Mapping and shape
45 minYour face is measured, the plan is drawn on in white pencil, and hair comes out only outside the lines. The visit for a first-time client.
Brow bar · Ankeny
One artist, one quiet room. Every visit starts with a map of where your brows begin, arch and end, so nothing comes out that you haven't seen on the plan.

How mapping works
Every first visit follows the same order. Your measurements go on a card, so each visit after starts where the last one ended.
A ruler and a fine string find where each brow should begin, where it should arch and where it should end, set against your nose, your eye and your cheekbone.
The plan goes on in white pencil. Hair comes out only outside the lines, with tweezers or cotton thread, and you see the map before anything is taken.
A tint matched to your hair, for the brows that need one. A patch test comes first for a first tint.
A last brush through both brows, a look from the front and the side, and your measurements written on your card.

Design stages
A visit in five frames: the string, the pencil, the tint, the set and the last brush.

Your artist
I'm Kathi Beckwith. No two faces are alike, so no two brows should be either. I measure before I shape, I show you the plan before I start, and I'll say so plainly when the right answer is to leave a brow alone.

Clients
“She spent the first ten minutes measuring and explaining. I could see the lines before anything came off, and that's what I'd been missing.”
“A quiet room and no rush. She turned me to the light and showed me both sides before we moved on to the next step.”
“I came in after years of doing my own. She drew the plan first and talked me out of two things I'd asked for.”
